Every event, before it is fully known to the public, is always the victim of commentators who modify and distort it to their own liking. The appearance of the Fila Brasileiro at our exhibitions was undoubtedly a major event, so it could not escape this rule. It is also a victim of those who resort to passing on rumours instead of admitting that the breed is unknown or first examining and studying its characteristics.
The most commonly used theme is the "strong" temperament of the fila. It is often said that this is a bad tempered, unrestrained wild dog that is a danger even to its owner. This could not be more wrong. The Fila is just an infinitely tolerant and instinctively obedient dog. He likes children and is happy to join in their play. He is very sociable, always trying to be where the household members are and is happy to lie at their feet. He is thirsty for cuddles, always finding a way to put his head between his owner's hands.

Ha a családtagot egy idegen kíséri, a Fila morgolódva visszavonul, és a távolból a tekintete nem hagyja el: gesztusait és mozdulatait figyeli.

The Fila is therefore not to be confused with the "Pulik", which is considered a "one-man dog", i.e. a dog that accepts and obeys only one person. The English would call it a "family dog" because obedience, respect and appreciation are not only for the owner, but for all members of the family. After two or three days, he will recognise his own carers and give them free rein.

Outside the home, when taken for walks, the Fila Brit shows indifference to passing strangers. They simply won't let strangers touch them.
Dogs with dual temperament or dual personality, depending on whether they are considered to belong or not.
One personality is reserved for the owner and his family. For them it is gentle.
I think it is possible to reassess the misconceptions that assume it is dangerous and untameable. The Fila is in fact an ideal dog for its owner, and ideal for strangers... from the owner's point of view. At the very least, it is a truly useful dog, because its temperament makes it an unsurpassed guard dog, a dog that solves its own problems, not just a barker that wakes the owner to come and confront the intruder.
As for the detractors, suffice it to recall the well-known saying: 'Fulano is as loyal as Fila' or 'Beltrano is a Fila dog'.
Van még egy fajta, amelyik rendelkezik ezekkel a tulajdonságokkal? Nagyon szerencsések vagyunk, hogy egy olyan brazil fajtát kaptunk, amelynek annyi jó tulajdonsága és olyan temperamentuma van, hogy véleményünk szerint nem kritikát kell megfogalmazni, hanem a legnagyobb ösztönzést.
